Project InnoFruit achievements

Although the InnoFruit project has been completed, it is considered to be a new start for a wider use of the project results and the tools created within it, as well as the generated capacity. About what was done, created and achieved, the project partners shared during the final meeting of the project. It took place from 18 to 19 February in Jaunmokas Palace, Latvia. Most of the InnoFruit project partners participated in the project meeting, as well as colleagues from the Baltic Studies Center. The final meeting of the project reported on the achievements and benefits of the project, present state and prospects of demonstration activities in the fruit sector in Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. Participating partners worked together and discussed recommendations for sectoral policy makers, estimated the work done together and discussed the sustainability of the project results, as well as the possibilities for joint cooperation in the future. Activities and achievements of Institute of Horticulture (LatHort), the Faculty of Agriculture, Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies, Latvian Fruit Growers’ Association and “Bery plus” Ltd have been reported. The partners from the Institute of Horticulture Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry and the Research Institute of Horticulture in Skierniewice, Poland were involved in building innovative capacity in Lithuania and Poland, as well as in activities for transfer of knowledge and tools. At the end of the meeting, the app “Resistant Apples”, a modified and expanded web site, as well as materials on healthy niche products were presented.
